“I am so fond of tea that I could write a whole dissertation on its virtues. It comforts and enlivens without the risks attendant on spirituous liquors. Gentle herb! Let the florid grape yield to thee. Thy soft influence is a more safe inspiration of social joy.” ~James Boswell~
Hello, again…I’m so glad you’re here for another “Tea on Tuesday.” I’m not feeling very well today, so I thought a nice quite time spend in my house, with a candle softly lit, a book to get lost in and of course a delicious cup of tea waiting for us. It’s a bit cold outside for us to sit in the garden. I know that probably where you live, your cold weather is far fiercer than where I live, but we “Californians” get chilled easier. I love rain storms and wild weather, but today it’s nicer to be inside. Look at the gorgeous sky though before we go inside.
I love to see soft whispy clouds of silver float by in the sky..
Last time, my cat, Miss Bella sat with us outside as we drank our tea, but today, Sele (rhymes with “belly”) is waiting to greet you as you come inside.
Sele is a lot more social than Miss Bella is, so I hope you don’t mind if she curls up to you this morning.
“There has never been a cat who couldn’t calm me down by walking slowly, past my chair.”
~Rod McKuen~
If you like, please sit down in one of my favorite chairs in my house. It’s old and shabby, but it envelops one with soft pleasure.
Do you see the book I’ve selected for us to look through today? I thought it might be a fun book for us to look through as we sit here drinking our tea.
The sun shining through the corner window where we’re at is perfect for reading. When I’m feeling really exhausted and sick, I always like to light a candle and feel the warmth and illumination rushing through my body. The book? It’s one of my favorites, that I like to read when I’m drinking tea and dwelling upon how much I love my house, it’s my sanctuary. The book is “The Magical Household: Spells & Rituals for the Home (Llewellyn’s Practical Magick Series) by Scott Cunningham and David Harrington. It’s full of gentle and easy charms and spells that helps you to bless your house in a lovely way.
“Tea and books – Mmmmmm, two of life’s exquisite pleasures that together bring near-bliss.”
~Christine Hanrahan~
I think our tea is ready and this one is one of my favorites when I need to add sweetness to my life.
I LOVE chocolate, so when I found this tea from this Etsy seller, I knew I had to buy some. You might be thinking that Chocolate tea just doesn’t sound right, but believe me, once you try it, you’ll never feel that way again. “Tea for all Reasons” who makes this tea (and many others that I have) is one of the best tea blenders out there. If you visit them, give yourself a gift and buy a special tea or two.
“If you are cold, tea will warm you. If you are too heated, it will cool you. If you are depressed, it will cheer you. If you are excited, it will calm you.”
~William Gladstone~
Let me take some out of the bag so you can inhale the rich, decadent and wonderful aroma of this tea. And see how beautiful and bright the tea leaves are. If you look closely, you’ll see small curls of real Belgian chocolate which is subtle but adds the perfect depth and flavor to the tea.
“If you are not feeling well, if you have not slept, chocolate will revive you. But you have no chocolate! I think of that again and again! My dear, how will you ever manage?” ~Marquise de Sévigné~
I know it’s time for us to say goodbye again and Sele and I have so enjoyed your company, thank you for stopping by. I’m off to take a cat nap and your company here has made me feel so much better.
Would you like to drink tea with others? Then just click here and you’ll be taken to Kimmie’s blog where you can visit others who are waiting for you. See you next Tuesday.
“Tea beckons us to enjoy quality time with friends and loved ones, and especially to rediscover the art of relaxed conversation.”

Lovely that Sele greets your guests (mine run and hide) and that chair looks squishy comfortable and welcoming. The book sounds like a good read too… will have to see if I can find it… but tea with chocolate in it? That I am not sure about!! Hope you have a nice rest and feel better soon.
