“Another novelty is the tea-party, an extraordinary meal in that, being offered to persons that have already dined well, it supposes neither appetite nor thirst, and has no object but distraction, no basis but delicate enjoyment.” ~Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste~
When I was a little girl, I always wanted to have tea parties with my dolls, with a little whimsical miniature tea set for my very own. My mother never bought me one, so I forgot my wish to have a special tea party and it was put on the shelf, out of my mind, just like other childhood dreams are sometimes. Until…
Through blogging I’ve made such dear friends. One of these people is Theresa, from “Faerie Moon Creations.” Through a “Practical Magic Blog Party” we were introduced to each other and our friendship was sealed by the fates, or the Fae as we both like to say. I won an incredible giveaway she was having and the tea set we are going to drink from today, is the long awaited tea set, that I dreamed of as a little girl. First, we have to set the tea set up…And today, both Miss Bella is going to join us for our tea.
Isn’t our tea set exquisite? I love the colors and the size of everything. It’s a clear invitation for faeries to come and join us. Next, Sele will help us set out the preparations…
As I looked outside at the rain, softly sprinkling my garden, I noticed two rose bushes, shyly nodding to us. Their sisters are still sleeping deeply because it’s not quite Spring, at least they don’t know it yet, so I invite them as well to join us. You can see how delicately they decorate our tea set with their beauty and if you close your eyes and inhale deeply, you might be able to smell their soft and delicate scent.
And I have the perfect tea for us to drink today. Again, this tea is from one of my favorite tea blenders that I happily stumbled across on Etsy. You’ve tasted their tea before the last few weeks as we’ve drank our tea. It’s a cherry rose tea! And wait until you taste it.
I love the scent of it and I wish I had a perfume of it, so I could smell like a cherry rose all day. There’s little tiny rose petals mixed in along with cherry flowers. Definitely one of my favorite teas, I’ve ever had the pleasure to drink.
The final touch is to set out our tea set and wait for the faeries to join us.
Now, we can sit inside looking at the rain and drink our tea which wraps us in the scent of Spring and all things lovely.
“Sweet spring, full of sweet days and roses, a box where sweets compacted lie.”
~George Herbert~
I’m so glad you stopped by to share some “Tea on Tuesdays” with Miss Bella and myself once again. There are other wonderful hostesses just waiting for you to stop by and have a cup with them. You can see who’s participating at Kimmie’s blog, “Art in Red Wagons” here.
And my friend Theresa (who I told you gifted me with my lovely tea set) has an Etsy shop full of magick and treasures where I know you’ll find something just perfect for you.
Thank you for visiting us and we hope you’ll visit us again next Tuesday for some more tea and company.

What an adorable tea set. Megan had a couple of those when she was younger. I wonder what ever became of them? The tea sounds wonderful! I’m probably way off base, but I can just imagine the aroma. It’s something my Nana and I could have enjoyed sitting in her garden. Thanks for the tea party…I feel ready to face the afternoon at work now.

I was actually going to join Tea Tuesdays today, but then I was feeling under the weather. BUT I LOVE your tea party, so fun! I can almost smell the roses. I know the Fae will be there, who could resist the smell of roses!?
We have never had luck with Rose bushes, the deer keep eating them.
I would so love to sample some of your interesting teas; like the cherry rose one from today, if you ever feel so inclined to share a little baggie of it. LOL
I am a milk in-reg tea person, but I can do milkless with most herbals. I do not like citrus-y teas I have found out.
I have a tin brand new with “Holiday tea”, while I love the shaped tin. I can not stomach the tea
if you know anyone who would be interested in it, please let me know and I will gladly share. (they are bags)
I seem to lean towards black teas, regular black tea (Tetley is my fav) English breakfast, and the Chinese oolong.(no milk in this last one)
There are some of the celestial seasonings teas I like also.
You have been in my thoughts, hope things are going a bit better!
hug for you, and scratches on top of the heads for the girls!

Dear Wendy! What a beautiful little surprise this was! Sorry I am LATE for tea. Goodness me.
Your photos are so awesome – those rose petals are delectable. Thank you so much, dearest friend. xoxo Theresa
I know I’m late getting here, but I wanted to tell you how much I love the tea set you got from Theresa. She\’s a super person and it’s a lot of fun to read her blog. I love how you decided to drink Cherry Rose on Tuesday. It was the perfect addition to the tea set and the rose petals. I am in awe and also glad Miss Bella added to the ambiance. I am sure your tea was perfect, and I am just sorry I missed it until now.
