“Faeries, come take me out of this dull world,
For I would ride with you upon the wind,
Run on the top of the dishevelled tide,
And dance upon the mountains like a flame.”
~William Butler Yeats, “The Land of Heart’s Desire,”~
Why is this give away for the brave of heart? Because if you should win these treasures and use them to call the Fae, you will be calling and working with the Unseelie Court. The Unseelie are NOT the sweet and flighty Tinkerbell kind of Fae, but they are the ones who will beckon you with dark delights and tempt you with spells that many mortals have succumbed to, leaving them with an unquenchable longing. When I work with the Fae, I always make sure that I have protection before I venture into their world. So, please if you do wish to meet them, be prepared and take caution.
“The iron tongue of midnight hath told twelve; lovers to bed; ’tis almost fairy time.”
~William Shakespeare
The first item of this giveaway is a print made by one of my favorite artists, Brigid Ashwood. It’s a portrait of a “Gray Lady” one of the Unseelie Court. Perhaps you wish to gaze upon her as you prepare yourself for the voyage..

The next item is a special oil to anoint yourself with as you inhale the scents of deep underground violets and the earth of the underworld. Sidhe Creations make this incredible oil and it’s magick is powerful and ancient.
And every traveler needs a light to guide them and protect them along the way. This candle is not to beckon the Unseelie but rather asks for the blessings of the Seelie Court, just in case you wander too far into the world of the Unseelie. Liorah Lleucu from Old Ways Magic made this candle and it’s perfect for any dealings with the Good Folk.
So here are three magickal items for the dark, the light and the land in between.
“The Realm of Fairy is a strange shadow land, lying just beyond the fields we know. “ ~Author Unknown~
So, what do you need to do to enter for the chance to win this giveaway?
If you know Danni from “The Whimsical Cottage” then you know she’s been hosting a “February Fae” month where each day celebrates the world of the Fae. If you don’t know her or haven’t seen the February Fae posts, hurry on over to her blog to read all the amazing posts written by different bloggers.
My post was of course about the Unseelie yesterday. In my post, I showed four different actors who I feel look and act like members of the Unseelie Court.
After you read the post, come back here and leave a comment saying which actor you think looks best as an Unseelie Fae. You don’t have to know their work, just look at them and see which one you like best.
(I know which one you chose, Theresa and why am I not surprised about it?
)
The giveaway is open to all, whether you have a blog or not.
You can enter only once and then I will announce the winner here on my blog as well as emailing the winner, on March 4th.
Again, only enter if you aren’t afraid to enter the world of the Unseelie.
Good luck, sounds kind of strange for me to say for those of you who are entering this “darker” giveaway, so instead I’ll say, may whomever wins be brave of heart and soul and be ready for the world of the Unseelie. They’re addictive….
“This is a work of fiction. All the characters in it, human and otherwise, are imaginary, excepting only certain of the fairy folk, whom it might be unwise to offend by casting doubts on their existence. Or lack thereof.” ~Neil Gaiman~
(Now, I’m excited! I just read today who’s going to be in the cast for the upcoming “Hobbit” movies and the two male actors I chose for the Unseelie men in my post are BOTH going to be in the movie. I’m such a geek, I know ![]()

What a lovely giveaway! A nice combination.
I think Aidan Turner looks best as an Unseelie Fae. Rather devious and deceptive.
Indeed you DO know who I would choose!!!! Richard Armitage all the way! Dark, dangerous and oh so handsome. This is a lovely giveaway – thanks so much! You wrote a wonderful post!!! Theresa
Ooh he is so lovely. Armitage for sure! I enjoyed the post too, but I don’t wish to meet anything dark for sure!! Good read, thank you – love to learn new things :O)
Love the Fae post Wendy! Thank you!
I think that Monica Belluci is the one who represents the Fae most to me!
Again thank you for the post and be on the look out for my first giveaway coming in a few weeks. I am working on a button for it now. I might need your advise on it!
Blessed be

I want to be Eva Green when I get to be a grown up….yeah in my dreams, but I think she looks the most like what I imagine the princess of that realm to be. Hauntingly gorgeous and and super sexy. The Olde Bagg, Linda

The first year we had old ones in the closet…..over winter, the whispers were not all beneficial ones. My husband was iritated much of the time being in the room with the “old ones” in the closet. We have since been much more careful to safeguard, protect and invoke our own protectors and have had no problems since.
That was a great post! I actually think Eva Green is my favorite. She looks very Unselighe to me.
I got to Aiden Turner, thought he was the perfect Unseelie and then lost the ability for rational thought. Man he’s handsome.

Mmmm… Richard Armitage. You know, Anne Rice has said on Facebook a few times that she’d pick him to play Lestat in a heartbeat and while he isn’t blond like Lestat in the books, he’d be quite the yummy choice!
As for the perfect fit for an unseelie fae, my personal pick is Eva Green. There’s something mysterious, dark and elven about her.
