How to take care of your human

Hi Everyone!

Have you missed us? We haven’t been on this picture box for a while now, because moms been feeling really sick and tired all the time lately, so we told her that we had our fans who needed to see us. So, here we are. Mom has something called a “thyroid disorder” although we don’t know what that means exactly because we only know about hairballs and eating grass to make our tummy’s feel better.

We’ve been doing lots of snuggling with her and taking cat naps with her, which we love. We want to show you how we teach our mom how to feel better and take care of herself. She tells us, “Miss Bella and Sele, you are the best medicine I could ever have and thank you for loving me so much.”

We sit on her lap and purr, we watch television with her, we have a new favorite t.v. show called; “Must Love Cats” on the “Animal Channel.” We never get tired of watching this show. It’s about time that we felines were honored instead of dogs all the time. Not that we’re saying that dogs are inferior…o.k., well, we lied, you dogs aren’t as special as we cats, but mom tells us she loves you big slobbery creatures to.

Onto our pictures;

Sele Scratch Post 1 original 293x400 How to take care of your human
First, we remind mom to stretch gently every day, like I’m showing mom how to do it here. She doesn’t like to scratch like my sister and I do, but she does a yoga stretch she learned called the “cat pose.” She also does a “downward dog pose” but it certainly doesn’t look very elegant or graceful at all!

Sele eating grass 1 original 400x272 How to take care of your human
We don’t understand why mom doesn’t eat the grass like we do, we LOVE to do it, but she says that she does need to eat her greens, whatever that means.

Bella garden 1 original 400x277 How to take care of your human
We remind her that each new day is an adventure and just because she didn’t feel well yesterday, today is a new day with lots to explore.

Bella wall 1 original 400x351 How to take care of your human
I teach her how to keep climbing up new walls, even when she’s tired and all she wants to do is lay down. Then she misses all the beautiful flowers and doesn’t get to see what our neigbors are up too. Yes, we know that horrible saying about curiosity and cats, but we just ignore it. Hmmmph!

Sele in grass 1 original 400x231 How to take care of your human
She likes to look at us meditating and then sometimes she sits right next to us and just takes lots of deep breaths with us. Everyone feels so much better afterwards.

bella in sun 1 original 400x257 How to take care of your human
Our mom tells us all the time how lucky we are because where we live, we get to lie out in the sun all the time, when some of our animal friends have to stay inside because it’s too cold for them. Yawn….

Bella and snake 1 original 303x400 How to take care of your human
One of my favorite games with mom, is playing bite the snake. Mom takes her bath robe sash and dangles it in front of me, like it’s a snake and I show her I’m not afraid of anything! My sister, Sele is kind of a ‘fraidy cat, but I’m fierce and ferocious, GRRRRR…

Sele on hill 1 original 400x246 How to take care of your human
See, how brave I am? My sister Bella always makes fun of me, but I show her that I’m adventurous by climbing up the huge hill in our yard. This makes mom smile and she tells me what a ” what a brave girl you are, Sele!” and then I feel all happy inside.

Bad hair day 1 original 300x400 How to take care of your humanMom met a new friend named Lisa Nelson when she was “blogging” and she fell in love with Lisa’s art. This picture is called “Bad Hair Day” which reminds mom that even though she may be feeling all funny, we don’t care what she looks like, we still love her. That’s not a picture of our mom, but you get the idea.(Now of course we all know that cats NEVER have bad fur days, right?)

AND it’s really funny that Lisa has a black cat also named “Bella” and a tuxedo kitty like me, “Sele.” If you click on the picture or click on this link, you can see Lisa’s art. Tell her we said “hi” if you visit her.

So that’s how we’ve been taking care of our mom, she’s going to see a new veterinarian soon, who will hopefully make her feel better.

How do all of you take care of your human when they’re not feeling well?

Purrs to all of you,

Miss Bella and Sele

About Wendy S.

I'm slightly "mad" with a good shaking of whimsy thrown in for good measure. When I'm not up, I'm down and sometimes if I'm lucky I'm somewhere in between due largely to having Bipolar Disorder and crazy genes ; ) I'm pagan by nature and witch by choice and I have two very beloved and spoiled feline familiars, Miss Bella and her sister, Sele. Am I a crazy cat lady? I'm an introvert in the "real" world but I love meeting new friends especially in the blogosphere where I've been blessed to meet many of you. Please introduce yourself if you'd like so that we can get to know each other better, especially if you have a blog that I can visit. And thank you for flying the friendly skies of United Broom Stick Airlines with me. Hold onto your hat, it's going to be an interesting ride.

well, when my human is in a lot of pain I know it, and try to steer clear of her and the metal thing she walks with, but if she lays down especially with the heating pad, then I try to lie on her, to give her extra warmth. My cousin, who is now stuck here with us, jumps on her chest all the time, and gets right in her face, he sheds TOO much and it bothers her breathing, i can hear it, it is wheezy whispery sounding, he also kneads her too hard, his claws go right into her skin, through the comforter even. I hate him, and I growl all the time now. mom is kind of mad at me for growling, cause I even growl at her. I am mad cause she has let him come here. She calls me bad cause I growl and hiss, when he wants to play with me, but he also attacks me, so I ain’t takin’ no chances. I like his brother the dog thing much better, I even romp around with him outside. I have been told by everyone in the family how mom’s old baby used to snuggle with her all the time, when she wasn’t feeling well, even when she was real sick with a tube in her arm. I am told the old baby only left the bed to eat and use the box. I am not that dependent. But I try.

Please tell your mom to come visit as we have a surprise for her on our blog. Maybe it will make her feel better. give her lots of kitty rubs and purrs from us.

    • avatar Wendy S. says:

Oh we don’t blame you Pretty for not liking another cat in YOUR household…Miss Bella would be scratching and hissing too, but me, Sele would be hiding under the bed. You sound like the most loving and understanding kitty esp. as you’re having to put up with the dreaded cousin. We have a brother who’s living with our mom’s human child who likes dogs more than other cats sometimes. We call him “dog cat” <traitor ; ) and our mom wants to let YOUR mom know that she's been thinking of her a lot lately and has so much to talk about with her and that she will visit and write her back . Thank you for always stopping by and giving us purrrs.

Kalei will sometimes groom my hair…other times she will snuggle next to me in bed… the best part is when I am on my laptop and she hops the counter and comes up to me and bumps her forehead onto mine… I remember starting that with her when she was pretty young!. she’s a smart kitty 4 sure!.

      Hi Chrissy,
Sometimes when I get right out of the shower and my hair’s all wet, Sele also grooms me. I love that actually. And she is always wanting me to pet her, so it sounds like Kalei knows who her mommy is. Head bumps are definitely a sign of affection. I’d love to see a photo of that if you get a chance, well, I know not the head bumping, that might be kind of awkward but one of Kalie at your computer…

  3. Hi Miss Bella and Sele — Her Royal Highness here. I look after my human by being very demanding so that she keeps busy at all times and also barfing up as much as I can so that she gets lot of exercise cleaning up after me. Occasionally I let her pet me and I purr as her reward. She enjoys cleaning my cat box so much that I always make sure to do double duty in it for her. My love knows no bounds.

Oh Your Royal Highness, we also “allow” our mother to clean up after us and she just LOVES to clean our cat box. It sounds like you have your human really well-trained. And we didn’t show the picture of Sele’s barf after she ate the grass as our mother thought that wouldn’t appeal to everyone. But you probably would have appreciated it, right?

Well, we tend to think you cats make good chew toys, but our mom says that’s not nice (even if it is a little bit funny). So, we’ll admit we admire the good advice you give your mom about how to live and the way you take care of her. We love our mom. She talks to us just like we are people and she always has time for us. We hate it when she gets sick. We climb into bed with her and snuggle up to keep her warm and give her company. We make her smile when she is sad and we let her know how much we love her when she’s having a bad day. She always says we are the only ones who are ALWAYS that excited to see her and she would be lost without us.

Well, Scooby and Elvis (laughing behind our paws at your names, too funny what our humans call us ; ) If you tried to make us chew toys, we’d bop you on the nose Our mom talks to us like we’re people too and gets really upset at humans who treat their beloved fur babies just as “animal” with no feelings or soul. You have such a loving mommy and smart one too and we can just see you snuggling with her. Keep up the good work!

What sweet kitties you are to remind your momma to take care of herself. We (Willow and Neo) like to curl up with our momma when she doesn’t feel well. Neo loves to cuddle up and give many kisses – while Willow likes to stand by and protect her momma. And occasionally kiss her hand. We don’t like when momma is sick because we don’t know what to do. So, we do what we do best – and be ourselves. :) We are going to have momma visit Lisa – our momma knows ALL about bad hair days! LOL Take care, everyone! Willow and Neo on behalf of Theresa xoxo

    • avatar Wendy S. says:

We furbabies know that animal love is the best medicine in the world, right? And we also know that you both are so lucky to have found a mommy who loves you both so much. If only more humans understood how special fur babies are, the world would be such a better place. And isn’t it funny when our moms wake up with hair sticking all over the place? Sometimes we run our paws through our moms hair so she’ll have bad hair days more often. And yes, Lisa is a kindred spirit who loves animals as much as our moms do. Life is good, isn’t it?

So incredibly good of you Bella and Sele for taking such great care of your mom! I do hope her doctor (the people’s vet) finds something that will help her feel better too.

    Blessings to you all!

LOVE the picture! I always wanted to be a redhead – bad hair days and all….

    • avatar Wendy S. says:

      Hi Rue,
Thank you for stopping by and saying “hi.” We know that our mom is getting better slowly, although being cats we get impatient sometimes that she’s not as frisky as us
; ) I love flaming red hair too, but our moms is dark brown, unless she colors it, for some strange reason. We don’t understand that part.

Miss Bella and Sele ~ You two are the bestest at taking care of your human! I know she loves you two dearly.
Isn’t Lisa’s art wonderful? She created a lovely picture. :0)
I have found a blog that I think you Girls will enjoy reading. Penelope write it and she is a sweet, opinionated Siamese with a cute little brother who is a Tuxedo. http://thecatfromhell.blogspot.com/

    • avatar Wendy S. says:

Yayyyy, we love the blog of Penelope’s and Kozmo’s! Mom had a Siamese who loved to talk and talk and talk all the time. Did you know that all black cats are part Siamese? Although, Miss Bella, my sister doesn’t talk like one. We still purr when we see pictures of Gomez, he’s the dreamiest! Thank you for the link and if you find any more great kitty blogs, please let us know. We love reading about other felines.
      Purrs to you,

Hello my name is Milo and Mommy, Stephi and your Mommy are friends. This is the very first time Mommy is letting me go on the moving picture box. My Mommy spends lots of the time on the moving picture box, she says she has school work to do and she writes a lot. I’m still little but Mommy says if I eat all good food and chunks she gives me I’ll grow up to be big and strong. I like your scratching post…my favorite toy is an old chair on the patio…I can bite and scatch it as much as I like and no one seems to mind. I also like to nibble on Mommy’s toes, but she doesn’t like that as much as I do. I have a black nose and Mommy says it makes me special. I also have a nice garden with lots of trees to climb but Mommy starts freaking out if I go to high.

It makes me sad to know that your Mommy is not feeling well. My Mommy has to sleep every afternoon because of her head. My Mommy says that there will be many battles that people face but some of the greatest ones goes on inside a person’s heart. I’m not sure what that means yet. Take care of your Mommy and I hope she feels better…my Mommy seems to love her a lot!

    • avatar Wendy S. says:

Hi Milo! We both saw your photo and heard about how much your mommy loves you. You have to tell her, that you demand more time on this picture box, meowwww! We told our mom the things you said and she smiled so much because you understand she said. She said you’re a true poet (whatever that means) and that you need to write a book someday because you speak for so many humans who are hurting. We just WISHED with our paws crossed that you lived closer to us so that we could all play together. Thank you for visiting us and give your mommy lots of snuggles and purrs when you take care of her,k?

We are 3 cats who take great care of our humans.

Domino: I love to butt heads with them and wash their hair even if they’ve just had a nice bath,(ugh, water I hate it)

Jack: I let them stroke my head for hours on end, it makes both of us feel good apparently

Lucy: I cuddle up on one of my humans lap and could stay there for ever if they didnt keep getting up and leaving me.

Miss Bella and Sele, I see that you are both very wise and teaching your Mom good lessons. We also live in a warm place, so we get to lay in the sunshine most of the year too. Our Mom also says we’re “lucky” and “spoiled”, although we’re not sure what that really means. I mean, we deserve all the love and attention we get, right? Our Mom feels good most of the time, so I suppose she’s the lucky one. When she has down days though, we can always sense it. If those wet drops come out of her eyes, we always rush to kiss them away and snuggle. Being warm and peacful helps everything, don’t you think? By the way, your Mom has a purrfect garden, it’s so pretty and sunny! We have a garden too, but our Mom can’t make plants grow as big or as much as yours. She forgets that they need water sometimes, and then they get brown. We love her anyway though. Talk to you soon and we hope your Mom feels better soon! Purr, purr from Mr. Meow and Saki
