If you blog or post on forums, you’ve either encountered a “Blog Troll” of you will eventually. I received this lovely comment yesterday which Akismet efficiently set aside as spam, which is why you didn’t see it left in a comment to a post I wrote. I had to laugh though when I read it and what made me want to post it was to see a) if you’ve been trolled by this idiot, b) how you handle troll comments and c) what would you reply to this asinine comment?
I realize that by posting this comment, I may be “feeding this troll”as he’s obviously a misogynistic pig looking for people to get offended and then visit his blog to comment, but see this is part of the blog trolls, errr… “charm”. He/She wants people to get all up in arms, visit his blog or website which is usually just about scoring high with SEO results. (Click on the SEO link, if you don’t know what SEO is.)
I’m not replying to his comment or even visiting his blog, which would be a waste of my time, but I do so love to laugh at trolls. 
What really inspired this post was what my friend, Stacy did when she also received this troll’s comment. I almost spit out my water from laughing so hard when I read her reply to the troll. He’ll never read it, and you can’t comment on his blog, but I think we can all use some more laughter in this world, even if we think this troll is nuts like I do. I keep thinking of the ” Three Billy Goats Gruff” story which I’ve always loved on how to defeat a troll.

American women are generally immature, selfish, extremely arrogant and self-centered, mentally unstable, irresponsible, and highly unchaste. The behavior of most American women is utterly disgusting, to say the least. This blog is my attempt to explain why I feel American women are inferior to foreign women (non-American women), and why American men should boycott American women, and date/marry only foreign (non-American) women. I find it interesting that while you feel free to come to MY blog (what on earth did bring you here?) and air your bigoted views of American Women, I was unable to comment when I went to your blog. so far I have not had the ‘pleasure’ of a blog troll leave a post. If that day comes, I think I will delete and move one…but who knows, maybe I will feel the overwhelming desire to reply like Stacy did to her troll. And I agree with her….I am glad he is boycotting American Women.

Well, at least we know that the “Troll” has good taste and like the idiot he is, he picked women who are anything BUT what he resents in American women.
You know, it’s hard to believe the time some of these people have. And I KNOW there are better ways to spend it (without American women of course.) I wouldn’t waste my time and energy on him, but I have to admit, I’d want to. But since that’s what he’s counting on I wouldn’t do it. Funny thing is, most of the women I know have had the same complaints about men – and they don’t even categorize them by country!!

Anyway, I haven’t had a troll YET but have come across some real nasties. I once visited a blog that the Mom had dedicated to her pregnancy, birth and death of her baby daughter from a genetic disorder and I happened to visit the same day a troll had left the most disgusting message making fun of the way her baby looked and attacking her religion, her response was truly amazing and put that person to shame.
As you know I have comment moderation and if I do get a lovely troll message I plan to ignore it.

The man who left a message for the woman who had a baby with genetic disorders doesn’t sound like a troll, he sounds worse! I always ignore spam and trolls, but this one was too ridiculous and hilarious for me to pass on. And I bet you’re right that he’s only acquainted with his hand instead of being with a true woman, whooops, too much information ; )
I wouldn’t waste a second to even consider a response to such a moron. Your friend is right, he should be boycotting all of us intelligent, independent, ladies who aren’t all baby factories and bakeries, he couldn’t handle us.

I think you and Jaimie-Lyn have escaped the trolls wrath, not just because you’re a “foreigner” which he had to define for us, but also because you’re not the “Stepford Wife” that he’s obviously searching for, Lyn. I happen to have a fondness for men born in the U.k. but I’m not going out of my way to say, that American men fall short. Give me a man in a kilt, like Gerard Butler any day.

I would like to apologize on behalf of the male sex. Unfortunately, there are a great many of us who have yet to evolve much further than the mindset our simian ancestors.
I have to agree, though. The best way to defeat any negative energy (no matter what kind) that is coming one’s way is to not feed it with any further energy. (In most cases. There are times when counter-energy is needed, but hey – we’re talking about a blog troll…not a psychic attack or crossing.)
I, for one, love women. Especially Wonder Woman.

I like your term for him that he’s a “mischievous little tyke”, little being the word. And M. King goes to show everyone what a true man is like. Still makes me so sad that greatness is feared to this day and how it’s taken to the extreme.
This guy is the worst. I think he may have gone out through the people you gave awards to. I know he hit the people I gave awards to. He really upset Ellen as she had up a very beautiful and touching video of her husband talking about ministering to a friend of theirs who recently died and how she had touched his life….and that’s where he dropped his load of crap. Calling him a troll is insulting to trolls.

I belong to a forum set-up for the area I live in. It’s fun (mostly) & gives the locals a place to discuss what is happening, where to eat, etc. About a year ago I (personally) encountered a TROLL there (even with strict forum rules about NO TROLLS). What a jerk. I didn’t give into his verbal jabs. And the other forum members banned together to get back at him. The forum admins finally banned him from posting.
I have not encountered TROLLS on my blog. But I figure it is just a matter of time before they show up. I have had to ban one person from following my blog – someone from (supposedly) some foreign country who insisted on publishing links to very disturbing sites. Hubby is studying computer forensics in college so I am now prepared to fight back should anyone get crazy via emails/blog posts – Hubby can track them back to their source.

Oh, I can’t wait to hear what your hubby learns and can help those of us who have to put up with trolls. As Susan said, I mostly get spam and that’s not a lot about “penis pills” etc…this one was too good to pass up. I think actually that forums seem to draw more trolls than blogs. Maybe it’s an errrr…compliment that he happened to pick my blog so that I could pass him around? ; )

Wow – so sorry you had to deal with this person. I have not had the pleasure yet of his visit – perhaps it is because I have comment moderation and CAPTCHA on? Before I enabled the word verification, I received some interesting visits from lovely ladies who “wanted to be my friend.” LOL Even with comment moderation, I’ve received nasty and inconsiderate comments aimed to hurt. It amazes me that some people have so much free time on their hands that all they wish to do is spread negativity and ill will. In any event, sorry you had to put up with it. For one thing its not American women. Its Western society. I can line up women of every different culture and country and you will find we all have simular superiourities and insuperiorities.
If you’re looking for a slave, which is what you’ve clearly descripbed you’re dream woman to be…. you’d have to go to another country…probably 3rd world. Because Western society no longer agrees with such a mentality. Sorry. Move on. Women have rights over here.
