Has this ever happened to you? You sit at the computer, desperately waiting for your muse to whisper her/his magic into your head and you hear nothing….My muse is a trickster. She wants me to give up my control over what I ”should” be writing and just trust the process…yeah, right. When I’m magically writing I sit down, unafraid of a blank void and unleash the power that I can sometimes access IF my Muse is pleased with me. I don’t remember where I read this quote about “page fright” but they said, one needs to ”write with the heart and edit with the mind.” I really like that quote. Last night, I sat here at my computer and all these little voices inside started to shout out their suggestions about what I should write about. Sometimes they help, but most of the time they just fill me with more confusion.
These were some of the ideas; make a list of ten things you like about Samhain/Halloween, blog about my favorite comic book “
I know I probably sound like a whiner and incredibly neurotic because of all these posts I have about what I don’t like about myself etc… So, I’m going to try something different. I’m going to force myself to list five things I like about myself. It’s funny, that I don’t see many posts where people actually blog about their positive
1) I’m pretty compassionate. I can place myself in another persons shoes and have empathy with them. Not pity, but empathy.
2) I have great hair. Oh, one of my LOUD voices inside didn’t like me saying that, because it never likes how I look. But I have long, thick brown hair that people always compliment me on.
3) I can be pretty funny in a dark type of humour way that either people “get” or they run away from. For instance, I loved the shows “Six Feet Under” and ”Twin Peaks” which most of my family considers just creepy or too strange for them. I was the rebel in my family and definitely still am. My son is exactly like my father and brother. Very logical and if they can’t physically see something, it doesn’t exist. They are extremely
4) I’m passionate. When I love, I love…I completely give myself spiritually, emotionally and physically to something or someone that stirs me. I read that the opposite of love isn’t hate, but apathy. And I detest feeling apathetic, so I tend to be very discriminating in whom I love (not just romantically) and what I focus my attention on.
5) I’m usually
So, there you have it. That was actually difficult for me to do, but I think I amused my muse. Literally.
As I said, I would love to know what you like or admire about YOURSELF. I’ve received so many gracious, flattering and encouraging comments which I’m incredibly grateful for and humbled by, but I’m really interested in hearing a few things you really appreciate about yourself. And let the

I love all the ways you love yourself, Faerie Sage. Esp. loving your curves! Something I struggle with constantly. And having little faerie feet, I think you need to buy a special magickal pair of shoes and then post them on your blog so we can admire them : )

1. I have a quick brain. If it were a computer processor then I’m not in the same leagues as Einstein but I wouldn’t be running Windows 3.1 either.
2. Said brain processor allows me to have a witty sense of humour.
3. I’m versitile and can do most things decently (I also do not like this about myself).
4. I’m compassionate and open-minded. Have a very live and let live attitude to life.
5. This is tougher than I thought. I do like my hair too (on most days). It’s long and curly.
